Two scenes on Beacon's waterfront taken in December of 2001. At left, one of the old ferry slips looks out across to Newburgh. The ferry ceased operations in 1963. At right, an old building I believe once housed a machine shop for the ferry company. The building has since been very sensitively restored in anticipation of forthcoming redevelopment on the property. A new dock has been built over the old slip to serve a pedestrian ferry service to Newburgh.
