Former New York Central Railroad covered barge. Like many old barges, this one was beached and put to use as a club house. Hulks of old barges like this were a characteristic sight on the river for decades, but have disappeared rapidly in recent years. This barge was demolished in February of 2004. Preserved examples can be found in New York Harbor and at Rondout.
