Former Luckey Platt department store, Main Street, Poughkeepsie, summer 1998. Luckey's was to Poughkeepsie what Macy's is to New York. This sign remained in place for almost 20 years after the store closed, but vanished not long after I took this photograph. The building, thankfully, has since been completely renovated for residential and commercial use after decades of abandonment.
