Abandoned Quarry Yaz’ Hudson
Valley Ruins and Abandoned Buildings, etc.
Crusher buildings stand within the
flooded quarry. Lights from an active industrial plant
to the north provide background illumination. December 13, 2005.

The silo stands on
the Hudson. The star trail at left is that of Vega, fifth brightest star in the
evening sky. Located in the constellation, Lyra the lyre, Vega is also the
northwestern-most in the "summer triangle," which is still visible on cold December
evenings, setting in the west.
The silo here is flanked by
Betelgeuse and Rigel, the shoulder and knee of Orion the hunter,
rising in the east. The stars of Taurus the bull are seen below the moon, at
top.
