The South End Tavern, on highway 4 in Troy, once got much of its business from workers at the neighboring Burden Iron Works. Today the plant is in ruins, but the bar and restaurant is still going strong. The "Ladies Entrance" leads to the dining room rather than the bar. The separate entrance policy, once not uncommon, is no longer enforced.
